Professor Patrick Tonnard MD

Dr. Patrick Tonnard was born in Gent, Belgium and received his MD degree from the University of Gent, Belgium in 1987.
He has been successively Assistant Resident in General Surgery, University Hospital Gent, Belgium (Director Prof. Dr. F. Derom), August 1987-February 1990, Fellow in the Department of Plastic Surgery, Hôpital du Tondu, Bordeaux, France (Prof. Dr. Jacques Baudet), February-July 1990, Fellow in the Department of Plastic Surgery, University Hospital, Gent, Belgium (Prof. Dr. G. Matton), February 1990-June 1993, Assistant Resident in the Department of Cranio Maxillo Facial and Plastic Surgery, Hospital Gea Gonzalez, Mexico City, Mexico DF (Prof. Dr. Fernando Ortiz Monasterio), July-December 1993.
Dr. Tonnard is Consultant Plastic Surgeon, St. Luke Hospital Gent, Belgium, since 1994, Director of the private clinic “Coupure Centre for Plastic Surgery” in Gent, Belgium since 1997, Director of the private clinic “Zwinkliniek” in Oostburg, The Netherlands since 2005, and Assistant Clinical Professor, Rhinoplastic Surgery, University Hospital Gent, Belgium, since 1994
Dr. Tonnard is member of numerous societies and associations including:

Dr. Tonnard is Diplomate of the European Board of Plastic Surgeons (EBOPRAS) and a corresponding member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS).
He is author of 36 scientific publications and contributions to books and has presented 183 scientific papers in national and international congresses.
He is the author of the book “Schone Schijn”, a manual for patients full of information and answers on questions in great demand and co-author of the book “The MACS-lift – Short-Scar Rhytidectomy”, Quality Medical Publishing, St. Louis, 2004, together with Dr. Alexis Verpaele. This book is written for facial aesthetic surgeons interested in maximizing their face-lift results while minimizing risks and complications.
