Guy J. Ben Simon MD
Dr.
Ben Simon earned his medical degree from Hadassah Hospital, Hebrew
University, Jerusalem, and his diploma in ophthalmology from Tel Aviv
University. He did his ophthalmology residency at the Goldschleger Eye
Institute, Sheba Medical Center, in Tel Hashomer, Israel, and completed
fellowships in orbital, facial, and plastic surgery at the Jules Stein Eye
Institute and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne,
Australia.
Dr. Ben Simon is on the faculty of the department of ophthalmology at Tel Aviv University and on the staff of the Sheba Medical Center. He has lectured extensively, has published dozens of peer-reviewed articles, and serves as editorial reviewer for numerous journals including Ophthalmology, Eye, and the Journal of Neurology.
As part of his military service, Dr. Ben Simon served as physician of an elite Israeli commando unit and also as chief physician in southern Lebanon, where he was in charge of the treatment and evacuation of casualties there. Under the auspices of the Swiss Vision for All program, he has volunteered with the Sri Krishna Eye Institute in India, performing cataract and oculoplastic surgeries at free eye camps. Dr. Ben Simon has won several awards and grants for his research.
